The UCLA Internal Medicine Program participates in the National Residency Matching Program and ERAS application system. Paper applications are not accepted. Interview selection is based on academic performance, clinical skills, letters of recommendation, scholarship activity, and personal characteristics.
A completed application includes the ERAS common application form, personal statement, medical school transcript, a Dean's letter, and letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should include a letter from the Department of Medicine Chair (or designee) and at least two additional letters. All application materials must be submitted through ERAS. The application deadline is November 1
Applicants should apply to either our Categorical or Primary Care track. Applicants should apply to the primary care track only if interested in pursuing a career in general internal medicine/primary care.
Graduates of International Medical Schools must possess valid ECFMG certificates, be eligible for J-1 visa sponsorship and have the actual State of California eligibility letter (PTAL).
